These terms govern your use of BourbonBuddy. By using the site or creating an account, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use BourbonBuddy.

1. What BourbonBuddy is

BourbonBuddy is an independent information and recommendation service for people interested in American bourbon sold in Australia. We help you discover bottles that suit your taste, tell you what they’re like, and show where they’re stocked and at what price. We are not a retailer: we don’t sell, supply, or deliver alcohol, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any retailer or brand.

BourbonBuddy is an independent service operated from Queensland, Australia (“we”, “us”, “our”).

2. Who can use it

BourbonBuddy is intended for people of legal drinking age in Australia (18 and over). By using the site you confirm you are at least 18. Please enjoy bourbon responsibly.

3. Your account

Some features need an account. You’re responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. Give us accurate information, and let us know if you think your account has been used without your permission. You can ask us to close your account and delete your data at any time (see our Privacy policy). We may suspend or close an account that misuses the service.

4. Acceptable use

Use BourbonBuddy for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don’t:

• scrape, copy, or republish our data in bulk, or use it to build a competing dataset or service;
• resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the content;
• interfere with the site, probe its security, or try to access other users’ data;
• use the service for anything unlawful, or to encourage irresponsible or underage drinking.

5. Prices, stock, and accuracy

BourbonBuddy is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We gather prices and product details from public retailer listings and other sources, and we present them in good faith, but we can’t guarantee they are complete, current, or accurate. Prices and stock are the last we observed, not live; retailers change them and sell out without telling us. Flavour descriptions and other product details are a guide, not a promise. Always confirm the current price and availability with the retailer before you buy — the retailer’s own checkout price and terms prevail.

6. Value comparisons

Where we compare a bottle’s Australian price to its US shelf price, that comparison is an indicative guide to help you judge a fair premium. It is not a live quote, a valuation, or a promise of a saving, and it doesn’t account for every cost or difference between markets.

7. Buddy and AI

Buddy is an automated AI advisor. He can be confidently wrong, and his suggestions are for your interest and to help you choose — they are not professional, financial, investment, or purchasing advice. Treat bourbon as something to enjoy, not as an investment. Check anything that matters before acting on it.

8. Intellectual property

The BourbonBuddy name, site, and the way we organise and present information are ours. Bottle, brand, and retailer names and trade marks belong to their respective owners and are used here only to identify products. If you own rights in material shown on the site and want it corrected or removed, use our contact form (see below) and we’ll address it promptly.

9. Third-party retailers and links

BourbonBuddy points you to third-party retailers. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their prices, stock, content, or the products and service they provide. Any purchase is a transaction between you and that retailer, on their terms.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other rights that can’t legally be excluded. Those guarantees still apply.

Subject to that, and to the maximum extent the law allows: BourbonBuddy is provided without warranties of any kind; we aren’t liable for any loss arising from your reliance on prices, availability, value comparisons, or recommendations; and where our liability can be limited rather than excluded, it is limited to re-supplying the relevant service. We aren’t responsible for decisions you make based on the information here.

11. Privacy

How we handle your information is set out in our Privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

12. Changes

We may update the service or these terms as BourbonBuddy develops. When we change the terms we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland and the courts that hear appeals from them.

14. General

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with our Privacy policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about your use of BourbonBuddy.
